Register and pay on the first day (Monday 10 August) at our info counter at Haus der Kulturen der Welt from 11.00 on. You will then pick up a workshop pass which allows you access to the building after closing time. The workshop fee is 50 Euro for the week. This includes access to some tools in the case of several workshops (although you probably will want to bring your own laptop if your chosen workshops are computer-oriented) and much of the materials you will need (besides those scavenged objects you bring yourself in the case of the instrument-building workshops). It does not include meals.
The workshops will daily 12.00 - 19.00, Monday 10 August through Friday 14 August. With the pass you receive at registration you have access to the building outside these hours (within reason…) Each workshop leader will likely have their own style and timetable for their node, but in general count on Monday being the introduction followed by working sessions Tuesday-Friday.
Participants should feel free to explore each of the workshop nodes and clusters. The topics you have registered for merely give an indication or first preference. Cross-talk and collaboration between these nodes is encouraged. Please keep in mind, however, that workshops with limited materials will provide them to those who are registered there first.
After the one-week-workshop phase a final presentations will take place on 15 August 2009 4PM at the House of World Culture. All workshop results will be shown until the 16 August. Apart from the presentation, the entire weekend will be an “open house” situation, with the public invited to see and experiment with the results of each workshop cluster.

A note for visitors to Berlin The SBahn system has been completely disrupted due to unexpected repairs to the trains!!!! We recommend using the UBahn (underground), tram and bus systems whenever possible. You can plan your travel in Berlin using this site: http://www.fahrinfo-berlin.de/Fahrinfo/bin/query.bin/en
